What determines your success or failure

Mr. Fair is a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In 2010, he did such a psychology experiment. He carefully selected a math problem, the difficulty of this problem is medium, and then selected 20 students from the freshmen of the university. The intelligence level and academic performance of these 20 students are not equal, and Professor Fair divides them into Two groups, each with 10 people, stay in two classrooms. Professor Fair first came to the classroom where the first group was staying, and said to everyone: "The question we are going to do now is not difficult, but we need to be careful to answer it well, so please answer this question carefully and meticulously. "Then, he went to the classroom where the second group was located and said to the students: "The question that is now being sent to you is very difficult. It was used as a test question for the Math Olympiad. I hope some of you can Make it out." After an hour and a half, it was time to hand in the paper. The result of the test was that 7 students in the first group got the correct answers, while only 2 students in the second group got the correct answers.

From this, Professor Fair concluded that the factors that affect success or failure are not only ability, opportunity, etc., but also the effect of psychological cues on the success or failure of an event. Positive psychological cues can have a positive effect, and vice versa. Suggestions have a negative effect.

Professor Fair’s theory has a very important guiding role in our real life. Before we do something, especially if we succeed in grasping something that is not too big, we can actively self-suggest and tell ourselves: "I will definitely succeed" "This thing is easy for me"...... This way It can increase our self-confidence, thereby increasing the possibility of success; on the contrary, if we carry out negative self-suggestion before acting and repeatedly think "Can I do this thing well? So many people smarter than me fail , I'm afraid it won't work..." In this way, the result may be really bad.

There are many factors that determine success or failure, and self-confidence is a very important factor. Many people fail not because of their ability, but because they lack self-confidence. Give yourself more positive hints and increase your confidence in success, in order to increase the insurance coefficient of success and create a world of success for yourself.
